- Refuses to help you when you are sick, injured or pregnant

What is sexual abuse?
Sexual abuse occurs when someone:

- Minimizes the importance of your feelings about sex
- Criticizes you sexually
- Insists on unwanted or uncomfortable touching
What is a restraining order?
A restraining order is court ordered and prevents a former abuser from contacting you or from coming within a certain distance of where you are. Restraining orders are issued by judges and are legally binding.
What is an order of protection?
An order of protection prohibits a person who is named on the order from having any contact with the person who petitioned the order. Orders of protection are created to ensure the petitioner’s safety and well-being.
